Vintage pottery duck storage

Lovely retro pottery duck from the majolica producing city of Caldas da Rainha in Western Portugal.   This kitsch little fellow is brightly handpainted and glazed in mallard colours of greens and browns with very colourful green, yellow, red, blue and brown feathers on his back.

His back feathers can be taken off to reveal a good sized storage area-great for keeping small items such as jewellery, keepsakes, make-up or sweets!  Marked on the bottom 'F Mendes LDA Caldas da Rainha Portugal'

In excellent condition, no chips or cracks.  Dates to late '70s, early '80s.
