I am thrilled to announce our first guest blog post!
Written by Leah of TheGirlInGeekGlasses, who has some great make-up tutorials. She has also done a really lovely review video of 3 of our products here, so go check it and her other videos out!

Today, I am going to be talking about my ‘Holy Grail’ makeup products, as I have a big interest in cosmetology and my YouTube channel is mainly based around that subject.
The first product is the Urban Decay Naked Palette. With it’s velvet-covered case and it’s beautiful gold print, this product looks luxurious right from the start. When the case is opened, it reveals 12 highly pigmented eyeshadow shades, all of which are neutral tones and range from glitter, to shimmer, to matte.
Inside the case there is also a mirror, a Good Karma eyeshadow brush, and the set comes with a travel size Urban Decay eyeshadow Primer Potion. By using these colours, you can create a variety of effects for both day and night. All eyeshadows are individually named, making it easy to discuss the different shades with friends!
This palette costs approximately £35.00, which is rather expensive but well worth it considering the quality of the product!
The second product is the Natural Collection blusher in Sweet Cheeks. Although the packaging looks cheap and the design is quite basic, what’s inside is so much more! The blusher is a gorgeous rosy pink colour, which can be used all year round.
This blusher costs £1.99, which is actually amazing for such a good blusher! It’s really good value for money, and you can’t really go wrong for £1.99!
The third product is the Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Coral Reef. First of all, the packaging looks absolutely stunning! I really like the square shaped tube and how the black writing is on the gold band around the lipgloss.
The colour is perfect for spring and summer. It’s also nicely pigmented and the colour is buildable with a few coats. It’s a lovely consistency, not too sticky, but not too runny either. The lipgloss wand has a doefoot applicator and is easy to use!
This lipgloss costs around £7.00, which is quite expensive for a drugstore brand, but if you want a highly pigmented lipgloss for the summer, Revlon is the way to go!
The fourth product is the 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive. As for the packaging…WOWZERS! I’ve never seen a lipstick in a blue tube before?! But, I really like the packaging and I think it’s really fun.
The lipstick is a gorgeous pinky, peachy nude colour, which can be used all year round as it’s such a wearable pink. The consistency of the lipstick is something I’ve never come across before- it’s more like a gel, but in a lipstick form! It’s the most moisturising lipstick I’ve ever used, it’s just so creamy and easy to use.
This lipstick costs around £5.00, which is really affordable and definitely good value for money!
The fifth product is the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black. The little tub it comes in is so adorable, and it’s handy that it comes with it’s own brush!
I prefer using this to kohl pencil liners just because it lasts so much longer and the texture is so much nicer. I like to use this on my waterline and then set it with matte black eyeshadow just to make sure it lasts all day. It’s a really creamy eyeliner and a little bit of it goes a long way!
This eyeliner costs around £9.00, which is quite alot of money for a tiny pot of eyeliner, but it’s well worth the money because it’s so good!
The sixth product is the Carmex Cherry lipbalm. The tube it comes in is convenient because it’s easy to carry around in your bag and you can apply it without having to get it all over your fingers! The smell of this lipbalm is absolutely delicious, plus it’s incredibly moisturising, it’s SPF 15 and it soothes your lips nicely.
This lipbalm costs around £2.00, which is an absolute bargain for such a fantastic lipbalm!
The seventh product is the e.l.f Eyelid Primera. On the outside, it looks like a lipgloss, which could be quite deceiving because it’s far from that! It smoothes over your eyelid and creates a good base for your eyeshadow to go onto, which doesn’t crease throughout the day at all. In the past, I have compared it to the Urban Decay Primer Potion, and in my opinion, the e.l.f. eyelid primer is so much better, plus it’s less expensive.
This primer costs £1.50, which again is an AMAZING price for such a good primer! It just shows you don’t have to spend alot of money on something when you can get something much better for a fraction of the price.
The eighth and final product is the Natural Collection Water Guard mascara. I never really hear people talking about the Natural Collection mascaras, but I think people are missing out! Like I said before, the packaging looks really cheap and basic, but the product inside is good.
I prefer long, thin eyelashes to thick, clumpy lashes because it looks more natural, and this mascara does exactly that! With a few strokes of the wand, my eyelashes look so much longer but not clumpy at all.
This mascara costs £1.99, a great price and good value for money!
So, that is the end of my ‘Holy Grail’ products, I hope you all found it interesting and informative
